On Thursday, July 14 at 7:30pm, The Grand Halle on Broad Street will feature The Aeolian Winds of Pittsburgh in Concert at the fourth and final performance of the new Grand Halle Chamber Concert Series. Founded in 2003 by the original University of Pittsburgh Wind Quintet, the Aeolian Winds of Pittsburgh are a chamber group of wind instruments, including flute, oboe, clarinet, French horn, and bassoon. The Aeolian Winds are particularly dedicated to commissioning, featuring, and performing works by American composers. These include composers such as Eric Ewazen, Stephen Foster, Herman Stein, Robert Muczynski, Aaron Copland, Leroy Anderson, and Peter Schickele. The Aeolian Winds will perform original works and pops arrangements by Copland, Gershwin (arr. Holcombe), Jean Francaix, Eric Ewazen, Malcolm Arnold, Lars-Erik Larsson, & Arne Running. The Aeolian Winds of Pittsburgh in Concert is one of the performances in the premiere season of The Grand Halle Chamber Concert Series. Four professional chamber groups, or musical groups with several musicians, are featured in an intimate concert experience within our restored, vibrant Halle. Tickets for the show are now available. A Series Special Discount is available for ticket buyers who purchase 4 or more tickets to the series. If you purchase 4 or more tickets to this concert, the discount will automatically apply. The discount is only applicable to the four concerts in the series. The Grand Halle is committed to the health of the community. We will require guests to wear masks at each Chamber Concert Series performance. In addition, tickets are limited to 150 guests per concert.
